About Mouth Guards
A mouth guard is a custom-made tray that fits over your teeth. It can be worn during sports and contact activities to protect your teeth from injury, or during sleep to protect them from the effects of grinding and clenching.
Sports Mouth Guards
Your dentist can create a custom mouth guard to protect your teeth from injury during sports and other contact activities. It will provide a barrier between your teeth and gums, preventing injuries like chipped or broken teeth and cuts to the mouth.
Night Mouth Guards
Your dentists can also create a custom night guard for you to protect your teeth while you sleep. If you grind your teeth (bruxism), a night guard will help protect your teeth from damage each while you sleep. If you suffer from TMJ disorder, a night guard can help prevent you from clenching your jaw and give you some pain relief.
Custom-Fitting
We offer custom mouth guards that are fitted exactly to your mouth to provide optimal protection and comfort. To be fitted for your custom mouth guard, you will need to attend two short appointments at our office.
At the first appointment, our we will take an impression of your upper and lower teeth. and send them to our lab where the mouth guard will be created. At the second appointment, we will ensure the mouth guard fits comfortably.
